Marta Pantaleo studied Graphics and Photography at Rome’s Academy of Fine Arts, followed by Editorial Illustration, attending courses in Macerata and Milan (Ars in Fabula and Mimaster, respectively). In 2016, she won the Silent Book Contest and so published her first illustrated book with Carthusia. In 2019, she won the "Notti di fiaba" award of Riva del Garda and Orecchio Acerbo published a picturebook on Salgari whose images were then awarded by the jury of the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition, the Shanghai Fair prize that has gained increasing international recognition over the years. The tribute to Emilio Salgari is by Pierdomenico Baccalario, a leading author of contemporary children's fiction. Marta works for the national and international press, and her illustrations have been exhibited in Korea and at the Society of Illustrators in New York.
