Rome, 1990
Determined to turn her passion for drawing and stories into a profession, Marianna Coppo moved from Rome to Milan to attend the Mimaster course, then to Bologna to attend the Drosselmeier Academy Master’s course. 2014 saw the publication of her first book by Terre di Mezzo. This was followed by many others, including books both written by her or by authors such as David Almond. Several of Marianna’s works have been translated into other languages and won important international awards. A finalist in the 2018 Goodreads Choice Awards, selected by Kirkus for the Best Picture Books, also in 2018, she was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 2019, and is featured in the White Ravens selection promoted by the Jugendbibliothek, the International Youth Library in Munich.
