Everyone was talking about the arrival of poverty in the city.
People speculated about what poverty is like. Each imagined poverty in their own way.
Poverty is like the fog.
Poverty has pierced entire cities.
Poverty arrived and ravaged the city and the countryside. It left the land barren.
The animals were famished, the people sold their goods.
Poverty brought out the worst in people. Lucilla's parents took a desperate decision.
Lucilla's father took her to the forest. She left breadcrumbs on the way so she could go home.
Lucilla found out that her father had abandoned her. She looked for the breadcrumbs but they had disappeared. The beings of the forest spoke to her.
The forest beings asked Lucilla to stay with them and invited her to a party.
The bats danced for Lucilla.
