Andrea Antinori
Winner of the International Award for Illustration Bologna Children’s Book Fair-Fundación SM 2023
This award aims to discover and support new talents in illustration. It is reserved for the winning artists under 35 of the Illustrators Exhibition, and provides a grant to allow the artist to develop a picturebook, which is published by the Spanish publisher SM. This year’s fair presents the exhibitions of the 2023 winner: Andrea Antinori (Italy)
Born in Recanati in 1992, Andrea Antinori studied at the ISIA in Urbino and the Escola Massana in Barcelona. Since then, he has been working with several publishing houses. In 2017, Antinori was selected among the illustrators whose work was exhibited at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, and he won the Premio Andersen for ’best book ages 6/9'. Outside Italy, he has worked with the Parisian gallery Les Artychauts and the English magazine "Create".
Solo una noche, SM, Madrid, 2024
For the very first time, the award winner has chosen to create a silent book. The story depicts how when night falls the forest is transformed into a magical place: or are all those fantastic characters and beings just figments of the imagination of the main character, a hiker?
