Evelyne Laube was born in Lengnau AG (Switzerland) in 1982. In 2004 she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Arts at Zurich University, then she moved to Prague, where she studied at the Academy of Arts (AVU) and then to Luzern where she studied Illustration at the School of Art and Design HSLU. She worked as a trainee at the printer BBK in Berlin and since 2008 works as a freelance illustrator along with her colleague Nina Wehrle under the name It’s Raining Elephants. She lives between Berlin and Lengnau.

Nina Wehrle was born in Willisau LU (Switzerland) in 1984. She studied at the School of Visual Arts in Leipzig and in 2008 she graduated with Honors in Design and Illustration from the School of Art and Design HSLU in Luzern.

Since 2008 she works as a freelance illustrator along with her colleague Evelyne Laube under the name It’s Raining Elephants. She lives between Hamburg and Luzern.

In 2011 It’s Raining Elephants obtained a Special Mention of the Jury of Illustrarte, in Portugal. In 2012 they were awarded the Bologna Children’s Book Fair - Fundación SM International Award for Illustration and in 2013 they received the Grand Prix BIB at International Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava.
