Satoe Tone is a Japanese illustrator who was born in Tokyo in 1984. She studied graphic design and illustration at Kyoto Seika University and currently lives in Italy.

In 2012 her work was selected for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition and in 2013 she was awarded the Bologna Children’s Book Fair - Fundación SM International Award for Illustration. In 2014, as a consequence of this award and in addition to the economic prize, she published a picture book with Ediciones SM El viaje de Pipo -which was presented during 2014 Bologna Children’s Book Fair- where the original illustrations of this title were exhibited. That same year she was selected for the 6th Biennial international Exhibition of Children's Book Illustration of Lisbon. Since then she has published more than 10 picture books that have been translated into many languages.
