Biography
Maisie Paradise Shearring

Maisie Paradise Shearring, is an author and illustrator born in Hull (UK) in 1994. In 2013, she graduated in Illustration from the Edinburgh College of Art. In 2015, Maisie graduated from Cambridge School of Art with a Distinction in a MA in Children’s Book Illustration.

In 2015-2016, as part of the Picture Hooks scheme, she was mentored by Nick Sharratt and in October 2015 illustrations from their collaboration were featured in a picture book exhibition at the National Gallery of Scotland. In April 2015 she was awarded with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair - Fundación SM International Award for Illustration. In 2016, she published a children’s picture book with Ediciones SM El Príncipe Feliz -which was presented during 2016 Bologna-Children’s Book Fair- where the original illustrations of this title were exhibited.

Maisie’s books include El Príncipe Feliz (SM, 2016), Va jouer avec le petit garçon (Sarbacane, 2016), Anna & Otis (Two Hoots, 2019), The Boy Who Loved Everyone (Walker Books, 2019) and .I’m Actually Really Grown-Up Now (Two Hoots, 2020). Alongside illustration, Maisie is a lecturer at Cambridge School of Art on the MA in Children’s Book Illustration. Maisie has mentored for Picturehooks and is also co-founder and tutor at Orange Beak Studio. She is based in Hull.
